We use the opportunity offered by this year’s International Museums Day (IMD), whose theme is “The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine” to officially launch the MEMH museum Project and experiment with several elements that will likely have a significant impact on museum interactions in the future:
- QR codes—already largely used;
- Blockchain and NFTs;
- Cryptocurrencies.
The ICOM poster, that we customized for the event, includes QR codes, which, flashed with a smartphone, redirect to the MEMH pages of the NFTs marketplace Opensea.io.
For the IMD 2021, we thus created our first collection of event NFTs: a set of 4 cards representing dressed fashion prints from our collections.
All four cards are limited-edition, and can be purchased in ETH cryptocurrencies—it’s now up to you to step into the future of museum!
